Numbered 48/500 – Can not find Artist or Printing company on this one. Believe its someone local to Denver. Comes unframed in poster-tube. Pics about say it all. Welcome back to me anyway! It’s been a long while since I’ve had time to come up with some new sales listings but trying to get some things going so let’s see what I can pull out of the files… As has consistently been true, most of these prints are my only copies – if someone else scarfs it up, it’s pretty unlikely that there will be another chance from me to pick one up. Once in a while, I may have an additional copy around – feel free to inquire – but more often than not this is it.. Artist: Sean Carroll / Sandusky Bay Poster Works. Date of performance(s): 6/12. Venue: Blossom Music Center. City: Cuyahoga Falls, OH (just outside of Cleveland). Process of creation: Screenprint. Signed/Numbered: Yes, from a limited run of 66 pieces. Size (approximate – please write if you’d like to get detailed dimensions): 18″W x 24″T. For those unfamiliar with it, Sean Carroll was/is a true DIY concert poster maker with nearly every one of his prints being produced in his own basement setup. He works on a variety of paper stocks, but many are very lightweight (or at least lighter than most used by high end print shops like D&L or DieselFuel) so be prepared/aware. This is all quite normal for his prints on the whole. ALL of these pieces are in generally very good to excellent shape. Most have no flaws whatsoever. A lithograph is a very high quality machine printed image made by using a 4 color separation process much like how the covers of any color magazine is printed. A serigraph is a silk screened image. With a serigraph the original oil painting is scanned and separated digitally into each and every color found in the original. A separate silk screen is created for each and every color that was scanned. There are usually from 80 to 130 individual colors in the majority of some serigraphs. Each silk screen is precisely placed over the serigraph paper, and then by hand squeegee, paint for a specific color is applied. This single application of one paint color must then dry for at least 24 to 48 hours before the next color paint can be applied. It can take a serigraph up to 6 months to produce 1 run of as many as 500 serigraphs of the same image. Serigraphs are also produced in much smaller numbers than lithographs, and they are as costly to produce, and as close to the actual original painting as you can possibly get.
