The Band Concert Poster BG-169 Fillmore West 1969. The Band Concert Poster BG-169. This poster was created and signed by Randy Tuten and marks the first-ever live appearance of The Band, which took place in April 1969. The show was memorable for numerous reasons, but chief among them was a mysterious illness that kept lead guitarist Robbie Robertson from performing for a couple of hours. Bill Graham saved the day by recruiting a hypnotist to work on Robertson. The idea worked, and the show-while late-went on as planned. Original poster, first printing. Printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 13?? x 20¾? This Poster is featured in the Art of Rock Book as plate # 4.46. The Last Waltz was one of the most Historic Concerts in Music History and featured many special guests including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and Neil Diamond to name a few. This Poster measures approx. 20 1/2 x 28 1/2 and is in overall nice condition. Has some waviness in the paper that easily flattens out if framed or in a Mylar slip. Several minor corner bends (see photo). That being said this is a beautiful historical relic which would be a great addition to your collection or home decor. Would frame up nicely.
