Exceedingly scarce and highly collectible large original vintage first printin g concert poster advertising Chick Corea’s jazz fusion group Return to Forever at the Musikhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Saturday, 25th January, 1975, in support of the. Album – their fifth studio album, recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York City and produced by Chick Corea and Shelly Yakus. All members of the group contributed compositions to this album. Side A contains heavily funk-influenced material composed by each member of the group, whereas Side B is filled by Chick Corea compositions. Chick Corea won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance in 1975 for this album. “Flight of the Newborn” is Di Meola’s first recorded composition and his solos are an early example of shredding. Striking artwork by Günther Kieser with his imprint to the center of the left side border. The poster measures 59.8 x 83.8 cm approx. 23.5″ by 33″ inches and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There is a faint horizontal fold to the middle and a tiny rip to the bottom left corner, else in near excellent condition, ready to frame. Scarce and highly collectible large original first printing concert poster advertising American singer-songwriter and guitarist Richie Havens at the Circus Krone in Munich [Germany] on Wednesday, 31st May, 1972, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with Stimmen der Welt. Havens was touring Europe in support of. The Great Blind Degree. His eighth album, produced by Havens himself and released by Stormy Forest Records. Famous for being the opening act at Woodstock, Havens died of a heart attack at his home in Jersey City on 22nd April, 2013, at the age of 72. Pursuant to Havens’ request, his ashes were scattered from the air over the original site of the Woodstock Festival, in a ceremony held on 18th August, 2013, the 44th anniversary of the festival’s last day. The poster features artwork by noted German graphic artist Günther Kieser from a photo by Hans Hartmann, with their imprints to the lower right side border. The poster has been authentically signed by both Günther Kieser and concert impressario Fritz Rau. This is an original Procol Harum Concert Tour Poster. It is from the 1977 Germany Tour, presented by Fritz Rau and Michael Scheller. Poster art is by famous artist Gunther Keiser. The poster measures 23″x33″ (medium-large). The poster is in good shape with no major damage. Two of the corners are missing, the other two have pinholes from being hung. Will need to be flattened back out before displaying/framing.

AMERICAN FOLK BLUES FESTIVAL’65. And highly collectible original first printing concert poster designed to promote the “American Folk Blues Festival” October 1965 European package tour, presented by Lippmann+Rau. Performing artists included Big Mama Thornton, Lonesome Jimmy Lee, Eddie Boyd, Buddy Guy, Doctor Ross, Freddie Below, J. Lenoir, Big Shakey Horton, Roosevelt Sykes, and Mississippi Fred McDowell. It was legendary German promoters Horst Lippmann and Fritz Rau who were responsible for the festival since its start back in 1962 where they stuck upon the idea of bringing a cross section of American blues musicians to Europe for a package tour. Dubbed “The American Folk Blues Festival, ” the shows were a major success and played a vital role in exposing American roots music to a new and appreciative audience abroad, especially in the United Kingdom, where the concerts proved to be a significant eye-opener for the founding members of the British blues-rock boom. Lippman and Rau turned the tour into an annual event and, fortunately, arranged for their artists to appear on a series of television specials recorded for German television. The poster features delicate graphic artwork by Hans Michel and Günther Kieser, with their imprint to the lower right side border. The poster measures 60.0 x 84.3 cm approx. 23.6? By 33.2? Inches and is beautifully printed in multi-color on thin, uncoated paper stock. This is the original US commercial poster printed by Darien House in 1969 with the FAKE date of January 15, 1969 which Jimi never played. This was done on purpose to differentiate it from the original German poster which sells for close to 10k whence can find a copy. Format: 25×35 (65×89 cm).
