This is a vintage original poster of The Smiths’ 1985 album Meat is Murder. Details about the album and poster. The album cover, and. Consequently the poster, features a photograph of a U. Michael Wynn, during the Vietnam War, with the text on his helmet changed from “Make War Not Love” to Meat is Murder. The original photograph was used in Emile de Antonio’s 1968 Oscar-nominated documentary In the Year of the Pig. The album and its title track were a plea for vegetarianism, reflecting Morrissey’s strong views on animal. 35.5 x 25 – Excellent Condition. No tears or pin holes.

Probably one of the most significant pieces of The Smiths memorabilia, an original 1986 concert poster, for the Artists Against Apartheid, movement. Supported by Pete Shelley, of The Buzzcocks. The gig took place at Brixton Academy, London, on the 12th December 1986, in what would turn out to be The Smiths final ever live appearance, before officially disbanding in the summer of 87. The condition is very good, baring some crinkling & few marks on the bottom corners, as pictured, its a more than solid keeper copy, that wont disappoint. You can often tell more about the condition of a poster, by looking at the back, as shown, pretty clean all over. I would grade as a strong 7/10, verging on an 8/10. Measures 420mm x 600mm.
