The Who/Grateful Dead Oakland Stadium Concert Poster (Bill Graham, 1976). What a monumental pairing of two incredible bands! Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon — the original Who line-up — joined the stage with Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and company for two nights in Oakland that will never be repeated. The graphics for this eye-catching poster were provided by Philip Garris (not Rick Griffin, as we earlier believed), and his tombstone-like design has an owl perched upon a human skull festooned with roses. The poster measures approximately 20″ x 28.5″, and is in NM condition. It postdates Graham’s series of numbered posters, and the Tea Lautrec printer’s credit at bottom center verifies this as a first printing. This was an all day affair at San Jose State with the the Grateful Dead, Charlie Daniels and the Greg Kihn Band. This poster is nearly perfect and was printed before the show all the way back in 1979. It is an incredible looking piece. This poster was printed before the show and measures 11 5/16 x 17 1/4 inches and has never been displayed. This was Brent’s first show. We are here to make people happy, thank you for your business.
