1963 The Beatles concert poster (Adelphi Cinema, Slough). The Beatles third UK tour began at the Adelphi Cinema in Slough, Buckinghamshire on May 18, 1963. Also on the tour were Roy Orbison, Gerry and the Pacemakers, David Macbeth, Louise Cordet, Tony Marsh, Terry Young Six, Erkey Grant and Ian Crawford. Although Orbison had originally been top of the bill, he was soon demoted to second place on the back of the extraordinary audience reaction to The Beatles. Offered here is a rare original concert poster from the Adelphi, measuring 10 x 12.75 inches. Printed by Hastings Printing Company, the card poster has two holes punched along the top border (as issued) from which string was used to hang it. Fabulous, bright colors and super cool graphics, including head shots of Gerry Marsden, Roy Orbison and most importantly, George, John, Paul and Ringo! The poster is in VG-EX condition with minor edge and corner creases, and a 2 cm tear running from the top edge, down through one of the holes. The poster has safely kept in the possession of a former employee of the Adelphi Cinema, until they recently decided to part with it. A wonderful Beatles display piece, that would light up any wall. This is an original authentic (printed before the concert) cardboard boxing style concert poster advertising. JOHN MAYALL with Duster Bennett, and ZEPHYR (featuring the legendary guitarist TOMMY BOLIN in one of his last appearances in Zephyr). Appearing on February 20, 1971 at the Seattle Center Arena in Seattle, Washington. Tommy Bolin’s last appearance as a member of Zephyr was March 5th, 1971, just two weeks after this show! Theater, Ann Arbor – MI. Of all the great modern concert poster artists, Mark Arminski is the master of color. Studying the wide range of his images, one can see that time after time after time he has chosen his color combinations very carefully, and invariably they work well together, produce effects which please the viewers eye. Also his excellent sense of linear design consistently has created simple, balanced images which will have lasting appeal for generations not merely as memorabilia for the acts listed on them but as brilliant examples of graphic art. People will hang these posters on their walls long after the performers listed on them have passed into history. The long term values of these Arminski posters also will be enhanced by the fact that , unlike the press runs for posters created for many of the big promoters, the press runs for these posters and handbills were relatively small, usually only a few hundred, creating a natural scarcity. They are not just fine decor for your dining room walls. They are a great investment which should mature in value in decades to come. Furthermore unlike the vast majority of modern concert posters which are printed by machine, these are silk screen prints which historically have proven to be much more desirable. John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1917 June 21, 2001) was a highly influential American blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. Hooker began his life as the son of a sharecropper, William Hooker, and rose to prominence performing his own unique style of what was originally a unique brand of country blues. Though similar to the early Delta blues, his music was metrically free. John Lee Hooker could be said to embody his own unique genre of the blues, often incorporating the boogie-woogie piano style and a driving rhythm into his blues guitar playing and singing. His best known songs include “Boogie Chillen'” (1948), “I’m in the Mood” (1951) and “Boom Boom” (1962), the first two reaching R&B #1 in the Billboard charts. Date: April 27, 2000. ORIGINAL 1960/61 Little Willie John CONCERT POSTER withThe Upsetters BOXING STYLE

It is for a show on September 7th at the Club Rivera in Corpus Christi, TX. It was printed by Fred Marshall Press (Houston). It is promoting 2 singles. “Heart Break” released in 1959 and “Leave My Kitten Alone” released in 1960. The latest reference I can find with regards to Little Willie John performing with The Upsetters Band is 1961. This is how the posted was dated to 1960/61. It measures 22 1/2″ X 15″. It is a gorgeous multi color poster. Please see photos for condition. There is a 3 approx. Tear at the top of the poster just slightly to the right of center. It also looks there is some very faded pencil markings to left of the word “Presenting”. Music notes were drawn on the back of the poster. Everything else related to condition should be visible in the photos. This poster presents itself amazingly. It is incredibly rare due to the age of the poster and the early death of Little Willie John. Truly an amazing piece of music history depicting one of the blues greats!
