This ad promotes their return for shows in the late summer/fall including this show with the Vagrants at the tiny Village Theatre. Included is an original (published at the time of the event) interview of John, Robby and Ray from a local NYC underground newspaper. Some great insights from the band on New York City, LA vs. SF, Where they have played so far and even their opinions on the Beatles and Sgt. SUPER RARE + GRATEFUL DEAD 1966 Avalon Ballroom Original Concert Poster FD 26 (3) 3rd Print. Stanley Mouse ORIGINAL 3rd Printing. Has pin holes in the corners. Bright color with a clean back. Please see pictures for condition. The following is an excerpt from classicposters. Com. Undoubtedly the most famous poster from the Family Dog series, as well as the most recognized image ever used by the Grateful Dead. The central image is a drawing done by Edward Joseph Sullivan, a late 19th and early 20th century artist. Sullivan created this drawing to illustrate one of the quatrains of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Mouse and Kelley added the color, as the original drawing was in black and white. The resulting poster has lived on through time and has increased in value at a dramatic pace. Since most of these posters were hung on walls at the time of the concerts, many exhibit severe damage and discoloration. Finding a Near Mint original poster will require a lot of patience, as well as an open checkbook. The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 14 x 20. The notation The Bindweed Press San Francisco appears immediately above the right side of the ticket strip. Many originals show some degree of over-inking. The second print poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 14 x 20. The notation 26(2) appears in the lower left corner, as well as the Bindweed credit. The third print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14 x 20. The notation 26(3) appears in the lower left corner. There are seven different forgeries of this poster, all of which are listed in the guide by Eric King. By far, the most common is the unauthorized reprint that does not have the Bindweed credit and also eliminates the Mouse! Another commonly seen forgery is the one that bears the San Francisco Poster Co. Thanks and good luck! An extremely rare concert poster. NIRVANA IN CONCERTO 16 NOVEMBRE 1991 TEATRO VERDI – MUGGIA (TRIESTE). This was the 1st Italian concert of the 1991 Italian Nevermind Tour. Very few posters from this early tour were printed and pasted on the walls. Poster has been restored, cleaned , with the original date/venue banner glued under. Measures 70×100 cm , thin paper, lots of wrinkles as you can see on the photos, but still looking great when framed. Possibly the only copy ever surfaced on the market & for sure one of rarest Nirvana concert poster. This is the only copy I saw in 30 years. UPS included in the final price.
