A scarce and highly collectible piece of original early 1970s European Ray Charles concert memorabilia. The handbill measures 12.0 x 18.1 cm approx. 4.7″ by 7.1″ inches and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition, bright and unmarked. Exceedingly scarce and highly collectible original vintage first printin g concert poster advertising Chick Corea’s jazz fusion group Return to Forever at the Musikhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Saturday, 25th January, 1975, in support of the. Album – their fifth studio album, recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York City and produced by Chick Corea and Shelly Yakus. All members of the group contributed compositions to this album. Side A contains heavily funk-influenced material composed by each member of the group, whereas Side B is filled by Chick Corea compositions. Chick Corea won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance in 1975 for this album. “Flight of the Newborn” is Di Meola’s first recorded composition and his solos are an early example of shredding. Striking artwork by Günther Kieser with his imprint to the center of the left side border. The poster measures 59.8 x 83.8 cm approx. 23.5″ by 33″ inches and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There is a faint horizontal fold to the middle and a tiny rip to the bottom left corner, else in near excellent condition, ready to frame.
