THE MELVINS Original 1999 UNCUT SIGNED ARTIST PROOF – Triptych Concert Poster. An original artist proof poster, made and signed by Lindsey Kuhn, for a 1999 Melvins concert in Denver, CO. It is a hand-pulled screen print in mint – condition, and is actually an uncut sheet of three different small posters for the same concert. All together they look like a medieval triptych, each panel depicting a different hellish scene. Dimensions: approximately 17.5? The last four pictures show minor blemishes. Three sides have indentations that can be covered by matting or framing, the bottom has what looks like a light ink spray. It’s noticeable if you look for it, but again, framing and matting can take care of the issues. It might even come off with ink eraser or a pencil eraser. What makes this piece UNIQUE. An Artist’s Proof is an old tradition of reserving a quantity of prints for the artist’s use, printed at the same time as the regular edition with out changes. Usually the amount of A. S printed are equal to about 10% of the edition. In the early days of printing, these prints were the only remuneration the poor artist received. Proofs are signed by the artist and numbered showing the quantity of Artist’s Proofs issued in the edition.
