1968 Yardbirds Earl Warren Jim Salzer Fillmore-Era Concert Poster
Promoter Jim Salzer put on some of the hottest concerts in the sleepy coastal town of Santa Barbara during the 1960s. Bands like The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Big Brother & the Holding Company, the Yardbirds, and Led Zeppelin were just a few. On May 10th, the Yardbirds filled the stands of the Earl Warren Showgrounds with Jimmy Page on guitar. The band that helped introduce Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page to the world, however, would play their last show only two months after this concert. Soon after Page would form a band called Led Zeppelin. This 1st printing poster, measuring 17 1/2″ x 22 1/2″, is on glossy paper stock. The venue and date, Earl Warren may 10 measures 3 1/2, which signifies that it is the 1st printing and not a later reprint (which is 4). Otherwise, this poster is in outstanding condition with extremely bright colors.
