The site of the concerts was formerly Bonds department store which had been converted into a large second-floor hall. Promoters kept the name because there was a large Bonds sign on the outside of the building. Had not yet broken out into mass popularity, eight shows were originally scheduled: 28, 29, 30, 31 May and 1, 2, 3 and 5 June 1981. However, given the venue’s legal capacity limit of 1750, the series was blatantly oversold (3500) right from the first night, leading the New York City Fire Department. Vintage Original 1969 Woodstock Rock Concert Poster (guaranteed)

JUST IN TIME FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY IN 2019! THIS ORIGINAL WOODSTOCK CONCERT POSTER HAD BEEN PLACED IN THE “CORNER DRUG STORE” IN SOUTH FALLSBURG , NEW YORK WHICH IS A SHORT DISTANCE FROM THE ORIGINAL CONCERT SITE IN BETHEL NY. A LOCAL COLLEGE STUDENT THAT WORKED AT THE DRUG STORE DURING THE TIME OF THE CONCERT RETRIEVED THE POSTER UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE EVENT. HE HAS OWNED IT FOR THE PAST ALMOST 50 YEARS AND HAD IT PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED AND MATTED. IT SHOWS SLIGHT FADING AND A VERY, VERY MINOR CREASE IN THE CENTER. THERE ARE NO PIXTELS IN THE YELLOW PORTION OF THE PRINT. THE SIZE IS 23″ X 17″ SIGHT. FRAMED IT IS 28 1/2″ X 22 1/4″. THIS IS A RARE SIZE. WE HAVE A BRIEF LETTER FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER TO STATE HIS ACTION OF REMOVING THE POSTER FROM THE DRUG STORE IN 1969. I OBTAINED THE POSTER DIRECTLY FROM HIM. WE LIVE VERY CLOSE (5 MILES) TO THE ORIGINAL SITE IN BETHEL AND I HAVE BEEN IN THE ANTIQUE BUSINESS FOR OVER 30 YEARS. WE HAVE FOUND OVER THE YEARS 3 GENUINE WOODSTOCK POSTERS. THERE ARE MANY FAKES, REISSUES AND ANNIVERSARY ISSUES, BUT IT IS VERY RARE TO FIND A “REAL” POSTER THAT HAS THE PROVENANCE OF THIS ONE. ONE SURE WAY TO TELL A FAKE FROM A REAL ONE , IS THE PRESENCE OF PIXTELS (SEEN WITH MAGNIFICATION) ON THE YELLOW PARTS OF THE POSTER THAT INDICATE A NEW PRINT OR REPRODUCTION. UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION AND REMOVAL OF THE FRAME I FOUND THAT THE POSTER HAS BEEN GLUED TO A FOAM BOARD AND THAT THE MARGINS HAVE BEEN TRIMMED. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL 1/4 TEAR AT THE TOP THAT EXTENDS SLIGHTLY INTO THE POSTER. THERE IS ALSO AN ABRASION AT THE LETTER “C”. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE NEW PHOTOS I HAVE INSERTED.
