1966 PINK FLOYD original concert poster (All Saints Hall) November'66 residency
1966 Pink Floyd concert poster (All Saints Hall). A rare, possibly unique, surviving concert poster advertising Pink Floyd’s November 1966 residency at the All Saints Hall in Powis Gardens, Notting Hill. The band first appeared at the church hall on 30th September 1966 for a London Free School Celebration Dance. Pink Floyd played at the Hall on November 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th but didn’t perform on the 1st as advertised. They also appeared at the venue on November the 4th and 11th. The final two photos are of the band. At All Saints Hall in 1966. Poster consists of two sections affixed together, measuring approximately 22.5 x 20 inches in total. Several horizontal tears across the top of the poster have been repaired from behind by a professional conservationist using Japanese tissue paper. One small chip missing from the top left corner, else the original poster is present in its entirety. The striking yellow poster features bold red font, encouraging fans to “get your kicks” and further down introducing the still relatively unknown band as “PSYCHEDELIC POP featuring PINK FLOYD & MIXED MEDIA”. The poster remains as a radiant relic from the dawn of the legendary bands enduring fame. Please check out our other rare music memorabilia & autographs! 1963 THE BEATLES original concert poster (Town Hall Ballroom Abervagenny) Lennon
1963 The Beatles original concert poster (Town Hall Ballroom, Abervagenny). A highly sought after original concert poster advertising The Beatles performance at the Town Hall Ballroom, Abervagenny on Saturday 22nd June 1963. In what was their only performance at the Town Hall, the boys played for around twenty minutes in front of a modest 600 fans. John Lennon arrived in the nick of time, having been at the BBC’s Television Theatre to record an edition of’Juke Box Jury’. After the taping finished he was rushed to Battersea Heliport and flown to Wales in a specially-chartered helicopter. He landed at the Pen y Pound football ground in Abergavenny at almost 10pm and joined the other Beatles just in time to take the stage. Paul, George and Ringo had driven to Abergavenny earlier in the day in their van and were treated to a civic reception hosted by the Mayor and Mayoress. The concert came at a time when the Fab Four’s popularity was starting to spread, although it wasn’t until late 1963 that “Beatlemania” really took hold. The poster measures 20 x 30 inches and has been stored folded for many years. There is some fading to the yellow print, mainly towards the bottom of the poster and stretching up into the’E’ and’A’ in’BEATLES’. A few small spots of soiling and a couple of minor tears to the edges and where the folds intersect. Overall in very good vintage condition. The poster originates from the collection of former British music promoter Alan Goldsmith, who has 50 years experience producing rock & roll concerts, air/stunt shows and exhibitions. He is the owner & creator of Mountfitchet Castle and The House on the Hill, the largest toy museum in the world. Goldsmith is also the author of the book Giving it Both Barrels! , in which he spills the beans on his fascinating life as a 1960’s rock promoter. Included with the poster is a signed note from Alan Goldsmith stating that it came from his personal concert poster collection and referring to the aforementioned book. The item “1963 THE BEATLES original concert poster (Town Hall Ballroom Abervagenny) Lennon” is in sale since Thursday, November 29, 2018. For sale is an original 100 x 75cm Gig Poster for the Jam at Queens Hall Leeds dated Tuesday 11th December 1979 with support act The Vapors. From what I can gather this concert was part of the promotional tour for The Setting Sons album. I’ve never hung it and I can see no signs of it ever being hung. The colours are vibrant. One incomplete small tear to lower corner added while taking these photos!!! All of the marks you see are due it being rolled up and left for too long in a poster tube. Please see the photos provided for greater detail, and feel free to ask for more if needed. This comes from my own poster collection which I’m clearing. I’m not sure on the price so happy to take offers. The item “THE JAM Original Concert Poster Queens Hall Leeds 11th Dec 1979. Offers” is in sale since Sunday, September 23, 2018. This is an authentic original (printed BEFORE the concert) handbill / flyer advertising. THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE. Appearing November 30, 1968 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. The handbill does double duty as a radio survey for station WKNR for the week of November 14 and lists the top songs of that week. Even though it is also a radio survey it lists ticket prices and ticket outlets so I consider it to be a bona fide concert handbill! The reverse side has an advertisement for GLEN CAMPBELL albums on Capitol Records. It measures 4 x 7 1/2 inches and is in VG+++ condition with minor tonig to the top edge. THIS IS THE ONLY HANDBILL THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR THIS PARTICULAR SHOW! I’ve only seen one other copy of this rarity! Please see photo for accurate image report. The Sex Pistols 1976 Kings Hall Concert Poster (UK)

The Sex Pistols 1976 Kings Hall Concert Poster (UK)

The Sex Pistols 1976 Kings Hall Concert Poster (UK)
An original concert poster from the Kings Hall, Derby. The poster is advertising a concert by The Sex Pistols on the 4th December 1976. The support acts for the concert were The Clash, The Damned and Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers. This concert never actually took place. It was cancelled by Derby City Council following The Sex Pistols’ refusal to audition in front of their councillors, resulting in them banning that evening’s show. On December 1st The Sex Pistols appeared on Bill Grundy’s’Today’ programme. Two days later, on Friday 3rd, their Anarchy UK Tour was due to kick-off at Norwich for a 19-date concert tour, supported throughout by The Damned, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers and The Clash. Following the’Filth and the Fury’ media backlash caused after their appearance on the now infamous’Today’ programme, most of the dates were cancelled or banned. Only three dates on the whole tour actually took place, eventually kicking off at Leeds Polytechnic on the 6th and then playing Manchester’s Electric Circus on the 9th with the Buzzcocks, finally ending at Plymouth’s Woods Centre on the 21st. This particular poster came direct from the collection of the person who designed the poster and many of the other posters used at the Kings Hall Derby around this time. It measures 51cm x 76.5cm (20 inches x 30 inches). The poster has some light creasing and a couple of areas of discolouration. The condition is very good plus. Mint = As new. Near mint = Almost like new with one or two very minor flaws. Excellent = Minor wear yet looks attractive and is perfectly usable. Very Good = Some wear and tear but overall presentable and usable. Good = Apparent wear and tear but with obvious deterioration of the condition. Poor = Extremely worn. A plus or minus after the grading indicates that the condition is marginally higher or lower than the stated grade. The item “The Sex Pistols 1976 Kings Hall Concert Poster (UK)” is in sale since Tuesday, August 21, 2018. This item is in the category “Music\Music Memorabilia\Artists/ Groups\Sex Pistols”.
