Original Vintage French Poster “Concert Parisienl” by Grun 1897. Concert Parisien opened in 1867 on the corner of the Faubourg Saint-Denis and the Rue de l’Echiquier. Jules-Alexandre Grun (25 May 1868 15 February 1934) was a French post-impressionist painter, poster artist, and illustrator. [1] Grun’s best known painting is called The Dinner Party, produced in 1911. It was, however, in the fields of poster art and illustration art, for which he was famous. He was employed at a large printing company in Paris and his artistic director was Jules Cheret. Cheret was also his main competitor in poster art. This Poster is published in Grun Posters Book by Israel Perry and Alain Weill , 2005, Page 46. A- to B+ folds, restoration along folds, color fresh, no paper missing. 1968 Yardbirds Earl Warren Jim Salzer Fillmore-Era Concert Poster
Promoter Jim Salzer put on some of the hottest concerts in the sleepy coastal town of Santa Barbara during the 1960s. Bands like The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Big Brother & the Holding Company, the Yardbirds, and Led Zeppelin were just a few. On May 10th, the Yardbirds filled the stands of the Earl Warren Showgrounds with Jimmy Page on guitar. The band that helped introduce Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page to the world, however, would play their last show only two months after this concert. Soon after Page would form a band called Led Zeppelin. This 1st printing poster, measuring 17 1/2″ x 22 1/2″, is on glossy paper stock. The venue and date, Earl Warren may 10 measures 3 1/2, which signifies that it is the 1st printing and not a later reprint (which is 4). Otherwise, this poster is in outstanding condition with extremely bright colors. Although not as well remembered as other blues greats like B. This original poster, measuring 16 x 24, is on thick cardboard similar to other boxing style posters.
